Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Technology-based staffing company CrewBlast rolled out an upgraded app that it said incorporates frequently requested features to make the service easier to use. Founded in 2021, CrewBlast's app pairs private aviation operators with available qualified crew and flight attendants.&nbsp;CrewBlast v2.0&nbsp;comes as the firm completed its first full year of operation and exceeded its forecasted sales by 350 percent.
The new version&nbsp;incorporates an ability for registered crewmembers to upload and maintain their documents within the app, enabling quicker response and hiring time. Hiring operators can review and approve documents on the web portal, CrewBlast noted, saying this streamlines the process and makes it seamless. Upon approval, the system makes introductions between the hiring operator and crewmembers.&nbsp;CrewBlast further is expanding its database to include armed security officers, which are necessary for flights to certain airports.
Meanwhile, “Our first full year of operations exceeded all forecasted expectations and the feedback has been incredible,” said company president Timothy Griffin. CrewBlast credits the rapid growth in sales to its automated approach, the speed of the connection between operators and staff members, and its global reach.
Griffin said the company is building strategic partnerships to offer discounted training for flight crews, growing its registered operator list and crew database, and eyeing the next features for the app.
