A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

The Meridian&nbsp;FBO at California’s Hayward Executive Airport (KHWD) is the latest to join the Avfuel Network.&nbsp;As a branded dealer, the location&nbsp;will participate in Avtrip—the fuel provider’s customer loyalty program—and offer Avfuel contract fuel.
Situated between San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, Meridian's West Coast FBO is one of two service providers on the general aviation-only airfield.&nbsp;The KHWD facility is the company's second in its more than 75-year history and&nbsp;opened in 2016.&nbsp;Its&nbsp;6,300-sq-ft terminal and office building&nbsp;feature a passenger lobby and lounge,&nbsp;business center, conference room, pilot lounge, a snooze room, pilot briefing room, shower and locker facilities, kitchen, on-site car rental, and crew cars.
Along with 3.5 acres of ramp space, the IS-BAH Stage 2-registered location also has a 30,000-sq-ft hangar capable of sheltering the latest class of ultra-long-range business jets. The company plans to add an additional 30,000-sq-ft hangar.
"As part of the Avfuel network, we look forward to raising the visibility of our brand while also growing our fuel sales volume,” said Carlos Rodriguez, the FBO’s general manager. He added that Avfuel’s focus on increasing the flow of sustainable aviation fuel&nbsp;into the supply chain will dovetail with his own company's efforts to provide it. Meridian's flagship location at New Jersey's Teterboro Airport is the last remaining independent FBO at that airport.
