Upstart HondaJet fractional provider <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2022-01-03/fractional-provider-volato-places-order-15-hondajets">Volato</a> has added charter operations to its business and expanded to Baltimore, Maryland, and the greater Washington, D.C. area, the company announced. Volato, which launched in September, has partnered with Easton, Maryland-based Trident Aircraft for ground support and FBO services to serve as its Northeast base of operations.

 


Atlanta Peachtree DeKalb Airport serves as Volato’s headquarters, but it also has operations in St. Augustine and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The expansion to Baltimore is intended to eliminate repositioning fees for Volato shareowners picking up their aircraft from airports within Trident Aircraft's facilities at Easton and Baltimore Martin State airports.

 


Volato’s pay-by-the-hour charter program was established in December and a portion of the charter fees are returned to the company’s aircraft shareowners. The company started with a single HondaJet Elite S and previously placed an order for 10 more of the light twinjets. Last month, Volato placed a second order for 15 more HondaJets.
