Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Daher is bolstering its flight training efforts with the appointment of TBM mentor and factory demo pilot Wayman Luy to the newly created position of director of training and standards. In this role, Luy is tasked with developing standardized training programs for both pilots and instructors and&nbsp;folding in tools such as computer simulation, online learning, and e-learning for the TBM series of high-performance turboprops and Kodiak utility turboprops.

 


In addition, Luy will be responsible for oversight of factory-approved flight training organizations. These include the U.S.-based Parkwater Aviation, which offers training courses and the world’s only full-motion simulator for the Kodiak;&nbsp;SimCom Aviation Training, which offers TBM courses and simulator training at centers in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Orlando, Florida; and, France-based Sim-Aero A.T.O, which provides EASA-certified TBM training.

 


“With nearly 1,300 Kodiaks and TBMs now flying worldwide, we are more focused than ever on providing owners and operators with the knowledge and skills to operate their aircraft at the maximum level of safety,” said Nicolas Chabbert, senior v-p of Daher’s aircraft division. “To be fully effective across the user base, this must be carried out in a standardized manner, and there is no one better suited to the task than Wayman Luy.”

 


An Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduate, Luy accumulated 6,000 hours in his TBM roles over the past 16 years. He further spent 20 years working with students at Wayman Aviation Academy, which was established by his father in 1987.
