Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Elliott Aviation was granted U.S. FAA parts manufacturer approval (PMA) for its Prizm brand LED cabin lighting and electronically dimmable Smart Vision Shades brand electronic window shades, clearing the way to sell both products to other Part 145 repair stations. To be sold under the Elliott Technologies brand, both the lighting and shades received supplemental type certification in a Citation Excel late last year.

 


Prizm provides full color spectrum mood lighting that can be controlled through either a mobile app or existing cabin lighting controls. The lighting is scalable to fit in most turbine-powered aircraft and can be used for upwash, downwash, lower accent, galley, lavatory, and cupholders with preset configurations available, Elliott said. The Smart Vision Shades, which are dimmable inner window panes, also can be controlled via app or built-in controls and are 99 percent UV blocking.

 


“Our engineering team has created both the Prizm cabin lighting systems and Smart Vision Shades based on market demand,” said Mark Wilken, v-p of avionics programs and operational logistics for Elliott Aviation. “We understand the unique challenges that exist not only bringing new products to the market&nbsp;but also installing and maintaining those products. These products are created by an MRO for an MRO."
