Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Duncan Aviation is making strides in the recruitment of the next generation of workers with a successful A&amp;P Open House at its growing Provo, Utah location. The open house, held on February 1, is one of at least eight recruitment events Duncan has planned over the next couple of months.

 


About 215 students from three Utah A&amp;P schools attended the three-hour event, which included lunch, tours, and discussions with current team members and former interns. Those nearing graduation received on-the-spot interviews, and Duncan extended offers&nbsp;to 10 students for full-time employment and another six for summer internships.

 


With the tour, students were able to watch facility operations. “In addition to seeing maintenance events in process, we had an AOG aircraft come in with foreign object damage. So the students got to see Duncan Aviation technicians interact with the pilots and work to get the aircraft back in the air as quickly as possible,” said Jennifer Monroe, Duncan Aviation recruiter. “That gave them a great idea of what the job entails and several of them stated how much they enjoyed being able to see that.”

 


Future events currently planned are scheduled for February 19 at Lansing Community College Career Fair in Michigan; March 5-6 at Southeast Community College Trades and Industry Career Fair in Milford, Nebraska; March 13 at Northeast Community College Career Fair in Norfolk, Nebraska; March 13 at Utah Valley Job Fair in Provo; March 20 at Northern Michigan University Career Fair in Marquette, Michigan; March 20 at Spartan Broomfield Campus Visit in Broomfield, Colorado; and, April 5 at Western Michigan University Aviation Outlook Day in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Subjects include product support of aircraft, engines and avionics, MRO company mergers, acquisitions, announcements and personnel, Airworthiness Directives, Supplemental Type Certificate approvals and other topics.
