Duncan Aviation's&nbsp;turbofan engine test cell, which the company calls "The Raptor," is now fully operational and ready to provide multi-level engine testing capabilities. The 20,000-pound-thrust class test cell has undergone Honeywell-certified correlation runs and will facilitate engine core zone inspections (CZI). The test cell is operational with Honeywell TFE731 engines, for which Duncan has seen increased demand.

 


“I am not surprised by the increased demand for Duncan Aviation's TFE731 services,” said Mike Bernholtz, turbine engine service sales representative for Duncan. “Our shop has been over capacity for several months.”

 


The test cell features Atec’s ADAQ data acquisition and control system and is scalable and customizable for various engine platforms. According to Duncan, its test cell is the only one of its kind featuring the Atec system. Engine testing capabilities include intermediate, depot, production, and development levels.
