Western Aircraft Quiets Pilatus PC-12 Cabin
Tee Idaho MRO lowered the cabin sound level in the turboprop by 4 db, through the installation of a Skandia soundproofing kit.

Idaho-based MRO Western Aircraft has completed its first installation of a Skandia soundproofing system on a Pilatus PC-12. The kit received FAA STC approval in June, with a goal of reducing cabin noise, increasing passenger comfort, and improving the turboprop single’s thermal insulation properties. Western’s technicians installed aircraft skin and floor damping, as well as thermal acoustic insulation bags, overframe blankets, and carpet pads.
