Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering is poised to extend its reach further into the business aviation market under a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Lufthansa Technik, the companies announced Monday. This lays the groundwork for a long-term partnership to provide business jet services.

 


Under the collaboration, the partners will explore areas where they can leverage their strengths to help increase support availability and technical expertise for the growing business jet market in China. They also plan to develop new maintenance offerings to meet market demands. The MoU is the first step in the partnership, with the details to be hashed out.

 


The collaboration builds on the foundation of Ameco, which was launched in 1989 as a joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa German Airlines.&nbsp;That venture has grown into one of the largest commercial aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul companies in Asia, with maintenance approvals from 30 regions.

 


The Beijing-based company has also long supported executive airliners and last year became a Boeing Business Jets warranty center. The company also provides VIP completions. Lufthansa Technik provides an expansive range of commercial and VIP services and completions, with 35 subsidiaries and affiliates and more than 25,000 employees.

 


In addition, Ameco held a signing ceremony with Sino Jet on Tuesday at ABACE 2018 to provide business jet airframe services.
