Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Gulfstream marked the fifth anniversary of its China service center, Gulfstream Beijing, noting that the operation has supported more than 800 maintenance events. The company opened the center in November 2012 through a joint venture with HNA Technic.

 


Based at Beijing Capital International Airport, the facility spans nearly 70,000 sq ft of hangar space, offices, and back shops, along with training and warehouse space. The venture has secured maintenance approvals from China, the U.S., Hong Kong, Macau, and the Cayman Islands for large-cabin Gulfstreams, as well as for the G280 and G200.

 


“Gulfstream Beijing is a valuable resource for Beijing-based operators and those traveling through China,” said Gulfstream product support president Derek Zimmerman. “As the Gulfstream fleet in the Asia-Pacific region continues to grow and mature, we will enhance and add to the services we provide at Gulfstream Beijing.”

 


The Gulfstream fleet in Greater China has grown to more than 190 aircraft, and the Gulfstream Asia-Pacific fleet numbers more than 330. In addition to serving aircraft in Beijing, center technicians have traveled to support customers in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines.

 


“The continuous extension of the aviation maintenance industry chain over the last several years has enabled our company to expand and add services and capabilities,” said Zhang Zhigang, chairman of HNA Technic. “We look forward to adding additional resources and exploring synergies with our partner.”
