Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Bombardier Business Aircraft’s service center and support network is keeping the "help wanted" sign out, as its facilities are filling to capacity with work.&nbsp;The company is participating in an Aviation Day in Denver tomorrow with the hopes of recruiting for multiple positions, including avionics technicians and customer response team technicians. The event will be held in the United Airlines Tech Ops Facility at Denver International Airport.

 


In the U.S., Bombardier maintains service centers in Dallas; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Hartford, Connecticut; Tucson, Arizona; and Wichita. These are part of a worldwide network of nine facilities and 16 customer response team mobile units. The network has been experiencing growth, with business up 20 percent in 2016 and that trend continuing into this year.

 


Derek Penn, general manager of the Wichita Service Center, noted that his center has been at near capacity, if not “completely full.” This follows an expansion at the site in 2015 to accommodate the larger Bombardier business jets in addition to Learjets. That center continues to spool up staffing, running around the clock.

 


Earlier this year, Bombardier Business Aircraft’s service center and support network had already added close to 200 employees to keep up with the increased demand.
