Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

NBAA recognized a total of 1,311 companies for a combined 13.5 million hours of accident- and incident-free operations in 2016.&nbsp;The recognitions were part of the association’s 2016 Flying Safety Award program, which also honored nine companies for 50 years of safe operations and another member company for 60 years of accident-free operations. NBAA will formally honor the recipients at a luncheon that will be held during its annual convention, which will be held from October 10 to 12 in Las Vegas.

 


“For more than 60 years, the NBAA Flying Safety Awards have recognized member companies for their exceptional records of accident-free operations,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “By following safety best practices and achieving accident-free operations, these member companies have proven to be exemplary safety standard-bearers for business aviation.”

 


Vulcan Materials is the recipient of the 60-Year Safe Flying Achievement Award, and the 50-Year Safe Flying Achievement Award recipients are Altria Client Services, Cooper Tire &amp; Rubber, Dunavant Enterprises, Georgia Crown Distributing, JCPenney, Masco, Texas Instruments, Tulip City Air Service and VF Corporation Aviation.

 


In addition, NBAA bestowed the Corporate Business Flying Safety Award on 204 companies compiling 9,468,939 hours of safe operations; the Commercial Business Flying Safety Award to 29 companies logging 1,246,669 hours of safe operations; the Aviation Maintenance Department Award to 92 companies; the ATP or Commercial Pilot Award to 403 pilots recording 2,819,297 hours of safe flying; Maintenance/Avionics Technician Award to 215 technicians; the Scheduler &amp; Licensed Dispatcher Award to 114 schedulers/licensed dispatchers; and the Support Services Award to 254 support personnel.
