Jet Aviation To Expand Its Bizliner Capabilities in Basel

The MRO is set to embark on a major hangar development project that will enhance its wide-body maintenance, refurbishment and completions services.

Citing rising demand for widebody completions, maintenance and refurbishment services, Jet Aviation is about to begin construction on a new 93,646-sq-ft (8,700-sq-m) hangar at its Basel, Switzerland, MRO facility. The new structure, known as Hangar 3 and slated for completion by the end of 2018, will replace the existing Hangars 3 and 4, will increase hangar space at the location by nearly 50,000 sq ft (4,550 sq m) and add 21,000 sq ft (2,000 sq m) of shops and offices. It will be able to house a number of narrow-, and widebody aircraft at the same time, up to a Boeing 747. The General Dynamics subsidiary’s project will also extend its ramp by nearly 54,000 sq ft (5,000 sq m).
