Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Spectrum Aeromed has won a contract to equip a new Redstar Aviation Bombardier Learjet 45XR with air ambulance equipment. The agreement follows on to previous contract for Spectrum to equip a BAe Jetstream 32 EP and another Learjet for the Turkish air ambulance company.

 


The newest Learjet 45XR is to begin operation in January.

 


“We have a working relationship with Redstar Aviation that has been in existence for many years,” said Thomas Redder, Spectrum v-p and account representative based in Munich, Germany. The aircraft have been equipped with a dual ICU stretcher configuration. Redstar is expanding its operations with a dedicated ambulance fleet of Learjet 45s.

 


Noting the company’s relationship with Spectrum has spanned more than a decade, Redstar Aviation accountable manager Emre Dursun said, “We are very happy with Spectrum Aeromed’s solutions. The support and solution-oriented approach of Spectrum Aeromed is vital for Redstar.”

 


Redstar, which received its air operator’s certificate in 1989, is Turkey’s first recognized air ambulance company. Initially founded in Izmir, Redstar moved its headquarters to Istanbul in 2002 and in 2014 became a subsidiary of Gulf Helicopters company in Doha, Qatar.

 


Fargo, North Dakota-based Spectrum produces air medical and air ambulance equipment for both fixed and rotor-wing aircraft, holding more than 60 supplemental type certificates covering more than 400 aircraft models.
