Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Bombardier Business Aircraft is planning a series of temporary “pauses” of Global 5000 and 6000 completions in Montreal as it continues to manage costs, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer confirmed to AIN today.&nbsp;The pauses “are really minor adjustments on a small scale,” said a spokesman, emphasizing that the company will honor customer commitments. But it comes as the business aircraft market remains somewhat sluggish and follows a decision by Bombardier last year to slow production of its classic Globals.

 


Bombardier is not revealing specifics about the pauses, nor is it tying the action to production rates. But the spokesman said the pauses would occur over the next year and added that the company is working with its labor unions to minimize effects on employees.

 


The move, he said, is separate from the company’s decision <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2016-08-30/bombardier-laying-shifting-workers-learjet">to begin transferring</a> some workers from Learjet programs to other programs in Wichita. That effort will involve some layoffs.&nbsp;Also separately, Bombardier had implemented a "workforce optimization plan" throughout the company&nbsp;earlier this year. That plan is having an effect on all Bombardier lines, including the Challengers.

 


Bombardier's business jet deliveries were down by 19 in the first half﻿, to 73 aircraft.

Bombardier Plans 'Pauses' of Global Jet Completions

The action, intended to manage costs at the Montreal completion center, is one of several separate cost-cutting moves throughout Bombardier.
