Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

NATA set a transition plan in place for the <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2016-03-04/natas-hendricks-leave-association-august">upcoming departure</a> of president and CEO Tom Hendricks on August 31, with Marathon Jet Center owner Marty Hiller set to take over as acting president at the beginning of September. Hiller will work with NATA senior vice presidents Bill Deere and Tim Obitts, who will steer the association’s daily activities.

 


“Though Tom Hendricks is departing at the end of August, he has in place a senior management team in whom the board has full faith and confidence,” said NATA chairman and Priester Aviation president and CEO Andy Priester. Noting that Hiller has agreed to take over in an acting role, Priester added, “This provides the board of directors with the luxury of time to decide how it will proceed in filling Tom’s important position.”

 


Hiller, who ran the energy supply company The Hiller Group until it was sold to World Fuel Services in 2010, had served as vice chairman of the NATA board of directors since 2012. “We are deeply appreciative of Tom’s leadership. Under his steady hand the association has moved forward on a number of fronts, particularly enhancing its reputation with policymakers and expanding benefits for NATA’s membership,” Hiller said.

 


In addition to naming Hiller acting president, the NATA board this month also re-elected Priester as chairman and Pentastar Aviation president and CEO Greg Schmidt as vice chair. Two new members were elected to the board of directors: Clive Lowe, senior vice president of Atlantic Aviation Services; and Christian Sasfai, vice president and COO&nbsp;of Tac Air.&nbsp;
