He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from the University of Illinois, has taught aviation for over 35 years in industry and as a university professor and academic dean at three different universities. He is also a frequent seminar and after-dinner motivational speaker.&nbsp;
Lombardo holds an A&amp;P Certificate, ATP, CFI and Ground Instructor ratings. He was a corporate pilot and was a research pilot and flight instructor at the University of Illinois. An FAA Safety Counselor for over 25 years, he was one of the original 13 Counselors appointed to the FAA’s Airworthiness Safety Program for maintenance technicians.&nbsp;

Working in conjunction with Rockwell Collins, StandardAero’s Springfield, Ill. MRO completed its first Rockwell Collins TTR-4100 TCAS 7.1 supplemental type certificate (STC) for the Falcon 50EX. A new processor replaces the aircraft’s existing TTR-920 processor and incorporates new 7.1 logic required to meet Eurocontrol’s Dec. 1, 2015 mandate.&nbsp;In addition to meeting the required mandates, the new 7.1 logic enhances crew awareness of traffic situations and allows either aircraft to issue resolution advisory reversals in the event an approaching aircraft does not follow ATC or TCAS instructions to avoid a conflict.
