Sheltair is at LABACE (Stand 4006) providing details on the recent completion of Phase I of its expansion at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport in Florida. The three-phase development project includes 134,806 sq ft (12,534 sq m) of premier hangar and office space on more than 11 acres (4.5 hectares) of land on the west side of the airfield.


This is the first general aviation facility to be constructed on the west side of the airport in more than a decade and has direct access to the new 8,000-foot runway currently under construction.


The new Premier Westside hangar and office complex is conveniently located adjacent to the existing 24-hour Sheltair FBO, which provides ground handling, fuel services, customer service, 24-hour customs, on-site auto rental, on-premises café and dining, 24-hour office and hangar access, and executive boardroom and conference room options.


According to Sheltair director of properties Iris Laria Smith, the Fort Lauderdale facilities have become the company’s premier destination for Latin American and Brazilian aviation customers. Representing Sheltair at LABAC with Smith is customer service representative Sandra Costa, both of whom are from Sheltair Fort Lauderdale. They are available to discuss the company’s ground-handling and aviation-service offerings available at their 14 FBOs throughout Florida and Georgia, and at its newest at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
