He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from the University of Illinois, has taught aviation for over 35 years in industry and as a university professor and academic dean at three different universities. He is also a frequent seminar and after-dinner motivational speaker.&nbsp;
Lombardo holds an A&amp;P Certificate, ATP, CFI and Ground Instructor ratings. He was a corporate pilot and was a research pilot and flight instructor at the University of Illinois. In addition to the Garmin retrofit, the King Air B200 will receive new engines from Blackhawk, full paint, full interior, </a>Raisbeck modifications, BLR winglets, LumaTech LED annunciator panels and Frakes exhaust. 
Since the first Garmin G1000 King Air STC, Elliott Aviation has retrofitted 42 King Air 300/350s, 42 King Air 200s and 15 King Air 90s. The G1000 retrofit, which is currently available for the King Air C90A, 200/B200 and 300/350, is an integrated avionics suite that incorporates graphical weather, synthetic vision, traffic, terrain and other avoidance systems in a three-panel display unit featuring a 15-inch multifunction display with 10-inch primary flight displays on each side. The G1000 system will replace an entire avionics package in a King Air, and the weight savings will increase the useful load by an average of 250 pounds. Elliott Aviation offers a 15-day guaranteed downtime for all King Air G1000 retrofits.
