Associated Air Center (AAC), <a href="http://ainonline.com/aviation-news/ebace-convention-news/2012-05-15/standardaero-introduces-fastlane-service-honeywell-operators">StandardAero</a>’s (Booth P716) large transport category VIP completions center, based in Dallas, Texas, has received approval as an authorized maintenance organization in China. The approval, granted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), is for a Part 145 approved maintenance organization (AMO)–covering maintenance and modifications on Chinese-registered aircraft.


The approval, which was granted to AAC’s Love Field facility in Dallas, is for Boeing and Airbus maintenance, repair and overhaul work and VIP completion. The MRO organization has a long-established record with both platforms.


A spokesman for <a href="http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/ainmxreports/2013-02-27/associated-air-center-refurb-head-state-bbj">Associated Air Center</a> told AIN that the company anticipates “significant business” as a result of the approval. “AAC is in growth mode due to the success generated by both our luxury brand and our track record delivering high-quality unique products and services. Part of that rapid growth is driven by new business in China,” said the spokesman. “Most recently we have added an engineering center in San Antonio, we are expanding our hangar capacity and, over the last six months, we have increased our manpower–craftsmen, technicians, engineering and management–by more than 30 percent.”


AAC has a launch customer but the company wouldn’t be more specific. “We would not have received our China repair station without a letter of intent from a Chinese customer. It is AAC’s policy not to disclose our customer names. However, we can say that the customer is China-based and has a very large presence in the Chinese market,” he added.


AAC has also recently received authorized maintenance organization status in Kuwait, Oman and Nigeria.Currently, approval for Mexico has also been applied for. o
