National Airways of Johannesburg, South Africa, has been named a FlightSafety Maintenance Training Center for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines. FSI will provide courseware and Matrix training equipment, including a graphical flight-deck simulator, desktop simulator for classroom instruction, training engines and specialty tools. A spokesman for FSI told AIN, “The training will be provided by local instructors who will be trained by FlightSafety. We expect to deliver approximately 100 courses this year since training will begin in the third quarter.” More than 500 aircraft in the region are equipped with P&WC engines.
