Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday will generate <a href="http://www.nbaa.org/ops/airspace/regional/super-bowl/">specific aircraft arrival and departure procedures</a> at New Orleans Lakefront (NEW) associated with the non-movement areas through Monday, according to NBAA Air Traffic Services. “These procedures are necessary due to the significant number of aircraft expected at NEW,” NBAA said. Specifically, there is a “highly detailed” metering plan for all departures from NEW starting at 9 a.m. CST on Saturday and ending at 10 p.m. CST on Monday. This procedure is necessary to meter traffic off the non-movement areas to the runway departure queue, NBAA noted.
