Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. After a stint as managing editor at Professional Pilot&nbsp;magazine, he joined&nbsp;AIN in late 1998. Switzerland-based aviation maintenance and completion services firm Amac Aerospace has been granted Boeing 747-400 and 747-8 Part 145 approval, meaning that it can now provide base and line maintenance services on these types. The Boeing approvals come on the heels of Amac Aerospace gaining its European EASA Part 145 approval to undertake heavy base maintenance on the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 and A340.
