Lombardo covers business aviation maintenance-related issues. He is also a writer and on-air reporter for AINtv. He has over 3000 articles published and is the author of several books on aircraft systems for pilots and on the topic of flight simulation.
He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from the University of Illinois, has taught aviation for over 35 years in industry and as a university professor and academic dean at three different universities. He is also a frequent seminar and after-dinner motivational speaker.&nbsp;
Lombardo holds an A&amp;P Certificate, ATP, CFI and Ground Instructor ratings. He was a corporate pilot and was a research pilot and flight instructor at the University of Illinois. CRS Jet Spares, a business aviation aftermarket parts supplier, has been authorized to be Securaplane’s sales and service center in Brazil. The authorization is an extension of the relationship the two companies have in the U.S.


The CRS base of operations in Fort Lauderdale makes it geographically desirable as a gateway for the South American market. CRS also plans to establish a facility in Brazil that will be a sales, logistics and service center supporting the aftermarket needs of Gulfstream, Challenger, Hawker, Falcon and Lear operators.


“The initial emphasis of the facility will be to support Securaplane power systems through sales and servicing; however, the Brazilian location will increase repair capabilities based on the needs of the South American business aviation community as we move forward,” said CRS owner and president Armando Leighton.


CRS has chosen for the project Brazilian partners that have experience in all aspects of the aerospace industry, including repair and overhaul facilities, OEM technical support, maintenance sales and operations. Details of the joint venture will be announced at the NBAA Convention later this month.
