Lombardo covers business aviation maintenance-related issues. He is also a writer and on-air reporter for AINtv. He has over 3000 articles published and is the author of several books on aircraft systems for pilots and on the topic of flight simulation.
He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from the University of Illinois, has taught aviation for over 35 years in industry and as a university professor and academic dean at three different universities. He is also a frequent seminar and after-dinner motivational speaker.&nbsp;
Lombardo holds an A&amp;P Certificate, ATP, CFI and Ground Instructor ratings. He was a corporate pilot and was a research pilot and flight instructor at the University of Illinois. An FAA Safety Counselor for over 25 years, he was one of the original 13 Counselors appointed to the FAA’s Airworthiness Safety Program for maintenance technicians.&nbsp;

Joe Hertzler, CEO of the Teton Aviation Group, formerly Avtrak, announced his retirement. Hertzler, along with his brother Glenn, co-founded Avtrak in 1996 and built the company to become one of the industry’s premier maintenance tracking providers. The brothers were instrumental in bringing maintenance-tracking software to a new level of sophistication and flexibility.


Earlier this year <a href="http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/aviation-international-news/2012-08-03/camp-adds-growth-avtrak-maintenance-tracking-acquisition">Avtrak sold most of its assets</a>, including the Avtrak brand, to Camp Systems International and subsequently renamed the company Teton Aviation Group. Teton continues to provide services to Gulfstream Aerospace in support of the Gulfstream CMP.net maintenance-tracking service. Joe will continue his involvement with Teton as both an owner and active board member.


Replacing Joe Hertzler as Teton Aviation’s CEO is John Cuseo. He has a long history with the company, previously leading the engineering team that developed the company’s flagship software program, GlobalNet, in 2000. Cuseo is also the president of Advanced Solutions and has been an owner and active board member with Avtrak since the company partnered with Advanced Solutions in 2000. In his new role, Cuseo will provide the company with leadership, direction and technical oversight, supporting Gulfstream and its maintenance-tracking service.
