A Boeing Business Jet newly delivered to Samsung Electronics set a world record for speed over a recognized course on September 17, thanks to an auxiliary fuel system from PATS Aircraft Systems. The flight covered a distance of 5,658 nm from Los Angeles to New Zealand in 13 hours, 7 minutes and 54 seconds, departing with full fuel and arriving with 7,800 pounds remaining.


The PATS package included seven additional fuel tanks installed in the aircraft belly, adding 3,368 gallons of fuel and extending the maximum range to approximately 6,000 miles, even with the fully outfitted cabin to be installed in Auckland by Altitude Aerospace Interiors.


The aircraft was the 150th BBJ in which the auxiliary fuel system has been installed since the launch of the BBJ program in 1996. “For both delivery and quality,” PATS has received the Gold Supplier rating from Boeing.
