Landmark Aviation made its Bay Area debut last month at Oakland International Airport. The new site occupies Hangar 5 and half of hangar 3 on the airport’s North Field, which was formerly part of Kaiser Air’s FBO until its lease on those facilities expired.
Landmark spent $350,000 on an interior renovation of the 5,350-sq-ft executive terminal, which includes passenger and pilot lounges, a snooze room, shower facilities, computer workstation with WSI, a wireless Internet café and executive conference room with interior paint, a new ceiling, flooring, furniture and equipment.
The company said it has spent nearly $100 million over the past 12 months in acquisitions and upgrades to its network.
The Houston-based FBO chain has released Landmark Connect, its application for the Apple iPhone and iPad that provides customers with a directory of services, amenities and contact information for all the locations in its network.
The app also provides runway maps, current weather conditions and direct-dial features for the more than 50 Landmark FBOs. The product will be soon available for Android and BlackBerry smartphone platforms as well.
