MBB/Kawasaki BK117B-1, Witibank, South Africa, July 23, 2010–The twin-turbine helicopter, operated by the South African Police Service, was responding to a reported shooting when it crashed four miles short of its destination. The helicopter was destroyed in the crash and ensuing fire, and the two crewmembers and five police officers on board all died. The South African government is conducting the investigation.
