Air Works, which claims to be India’s largest independent maintenance provider, has become the first in the country to complete certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency. The approval covers ATR 42 and 72 regional airliners, as well as the Boeing 737 series, and will soon extend to the Airbus A320 range. The company has also been selected as an authorized service partner for the Superjet 100 twinjet.

Business aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul is a major part of Air Works’ activities. The company is a service center for Bombardier, Gulfstream, Bell Helicopter, Agusta-Westland and Honeywell. It has facilities in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hosur, near Bangalore. The firm, which is part owned by U.S. private equity group Global Technology Investment and India’s Punj Lloyd, is building a new hangar at Hosur and plans to open facilities at Kolkata, Hyderabad and Goa.
