Million Air (Booth No. 4671) has a “sustained strategy” for not merely making it through this recession, but coming out the other end stronger and in a position to take advantage of the recovery.
In a press conference here Tuesday, Million Air CEO Roger Woolsey made it clear that the FBO chain is focused on making that strategy work, from multimillion-dollar investments in new construction to simple upgrades and a focus on talented employees and satisfied customers.
Woolsey said construction of new facilities in Gulfport-Biloxi, Miss., and San Bernardino, Calif., are on schedule.
At San Bernardino International Airport, work is almost complete on the campus where four buildings include a two-story FBO, another two-story building housing U.S. Customs, a 35,597-sq-ft hangar/office facility, and a two-story office building. A grand opening is anticipated next February.
Ground has been broken for the new, 54,000-sq-ft Million Air at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. Once complete, it will be the only full-service FBO on the field, according to Woolsey. An April 2010 opening is scheduled. Million Air Tucson at Tucson International Airport opened in January featuring a contemporary-style luxury terminal. It includes courtesy valet service, a movie theater, and a 20,000-sq-ft hangar the can accommodate aircraft as large as a Gulfstream V.
In recent months, Million Air has added three new FBOs to the chain: Million Air Indianapolis, Million Air Moses Lake at Grant County International Airport, in Moses Lake, Washington, and Million Air at Tallahassee Municipal Airport in Florida. Woolsey said Million Air “continues to increase market share in spite of varying dips in airport traffic across the United States.” He said the sustained strategy of Million Air is akin to the response of a pilot when faced with a crisis, “Aviate, navigate and communicate.
