Hot Section: StandardAero Gets STC for King Air 200 PT6A-52 Program

StandardAero has received supplemental type certification (STC) to remove Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-41 or -42 series engines on the Beechcraft King Air 2

StandardAero has received supplemental type certification (STC) to remove Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-41 or -42 series engines on the Beechcraft King Air 200/200C/B200/B200C and replace them with PT6A-52 engines and four-blade Hartzell propellers. It is the same engine and propeller combination that is type certified on the new Beechcraft King Air B200GT. With this STC approval StandardAero becomes the third company in the world to hold an STC for the modification.

Manny Atwal, general manager of StandardAero’s turboprop business, said the company is also the only PT6A designated overhaul facility that can offer customers maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as PT6 engine upgrade options.
