Dassault Falcon, which currently offers Emergency Vision Assurance System (EVAS) cockpit smoke protection as optional equipment on all new aircraft, finalized an agreement with EVASWorldwide of Mahwah, New Jersey, to equip all of the company’s demonstration aircraft with EVAS.
EVAS is the only cockpit smoke detection system that is approved and certified by FAA, EASA, Transport Canada and China’s CAAC to effectively defend against heavy and continuous smoke emergencies in the cockpit and cabin. Although infrequent, the Flight Safety Foundation ranks these type emergencies as the third highest cause of fatalities. Smoke of unknown origin is the number one cause of diversions for ETOPS flights.
EVAS is certified by the FAA, EASA and Transport Canada for the entire Falcon business jet line including the 7X.
