Matt Thurber, editor-in-chief at AIN Media Group, has been flying since 1975 and writing about aviation since 1978 and now has the best job in the world, running editorial operations for Aviation International News, Business Jet Traveler, and FutureFlight.aero. In addition to working as an A&amp;P mechanic on everything from Piper Cubs to turboprops, Matt taught flying at his father’s flight school in Plymouth, Mass., in the early 1980s, flew for an aircraft owner/pilot, and for two summer seasons hunted swordfish near the George’s Banks off the East Coast from a Piper Super Cub. JetDirect Aviation this week sold the assets of maintenance provider JetCorp to Flying Colours of Peterborough, Ontario. Current president Bill McLendon remains on board as president of newly named JetCorp Technicial Services, located at Spirit of Saint L St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, Mo. JetCorp, which was sold to JetDirect in June 2006, has been in business for more than 25 years and specializes in business jet heavy maintenance, inspections, structural repairs, components, avionics, engine line services and interior refurbs. The company recently earned a supplemental type certificate for conversion of Bombardier CRJs to executive configuration, which meshes with Flying Colours’s STCs for CRJ interiors and fuel systems. “Our new association with Flying Colours is a great fit,” said McLendon. “The two companies’ capabilities and strengths complement each other extremely well, directly enhancing our ability to provide high quality, comprehensive service offerings to our customers.”
