France’s Safran is to supply major equipment packages for the new, all-composite Learjet 85, adding to its growing presence aboard Bombardier business aircraft. Under the terms of a deal signed in Montreal on July 4, Safran subsidiaries Messier-Bugatti and Aircelle will respectively provide the landing gear and nacelles and their associated systems.
Messier-Bugatti will supply the wheels, brakes, brake control system, steering system and landing extension and retraction system, while Aircelle supplies the engine nacelles and thrust reversers for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW3078 turbofan. Together, the two companies will provide around 11 percent of the materials contracts for the aircraft. P
