Learjet 85 gets Pro Line Fusion avionics and European launch customer

Zurich-based ExecuJet signed for six Bombardier Learjet 85 midsize jets, making the executive aircraft sales, charter, completions and maintenance firm the European launch customer for the all-composite twinjet. The firm order is valued at approximately $103 million, and deliveries to ExecuJet are slated to begin in 2013. ExecuJet said the new Learjet 85 will join its existing charter fleet, which already includes 29 Bombardier business jets operating worldwide.

Further strengthening its relationship with avionics maker Rockwell Collins, Bombardier has selected the Pro Line Fusion cockpit for the Learjet 85. The announcement marks the second selection by Bombardier of the Fusion suite after the Canadian company chose the avionics as the centerpiece for its so-called Global Vision cockpit last fall. That system will replace the Honeywell Primus 2000XP avionics in the Global Express XRS and Global 5000 starting in 2011.
