The recent announcements from Eclipse of a new source of funding and of FAA certification of the Avio NG avionics platform for the Eclipse 500 are causing ripples through the VLJ market. Mike Press, CEO of Single Pilot Jet Management, a broker who specializes in the sales of Eclipse delivery positions, says he has seen an upswing in interest in the Eclipse 500 in the short time since news of the $100 million infusion from Etirc Aviation was released. Press told AIN he has received a large number of inquiries from buyers wishing to obtain Eclipse positions, while current position holders seem more determined to hold on to them. Press said one of his clients recently turned down an offer of $1.9 million for his Eclipse, noting, “He’s waiting for the price to hit $2 million.”
