<p>A Cessna spokeswoman confirmed that the company plans to add 1,500 jobs next year, mostly in Wichita, largely due to growing sales of its Citation business jets. The Wichita-based manufacturer estimates that it will deliver 380 business jets, including 44 entry-level Mustangs, this year and expects to ship 470 twinjets, including nearly 100 Mustangs, next year. Some 60 percent of the new jobs will be direct labor, while the remainder are engineering, professional and salaried support positions. The <a href="http://www.kansas.com/101/story/234836.html&gt;&lt;em&gt;Wichita Eagle&lt;/em" target="_blank"></a> said Cessna’s figures don’t include the annual attrition rate of 6 to 7 percent, so more than 1,500 employees will be hired next year. According to parent company Textron’s third-quarter financial report, Cessna’s backlog stands at a record $11.9 billion, and most of its business jet lines are sold out for the next three years. To help raise production capacity, the manufacturer is adding portable offices and two paint bays in Wichita and is tapping the resources from its facilities in Columbus, Ga., and Chihuahua, Mexico.</p>
