<p>Swiss-based Aviace, which ordered 112 Eclipse 500 very light jets in 2002, has put its “jet club” plans on hold until the aircraft is in the final stages of European certification. “We want to know when the aircraft is actually certified in Europe before making any definite announcement,” Aviace CEO Wilfried Koeck told <b>AIN</b>. He said he did not expect this certification to be completed before the end of next year, which is consistent with Eclipse Aviation’s published program schedule. “It is too early to establish our network of operators,” Koeck insisted. Aviace introduced the “jet club” program at the 2002 European Business Aviation Convention &amp; Exhibition in Geneva as an alternative to both fractional ownership and traditional air charter. Meanwhile, Albuquerque, N.M.-based Eclipse does not plan to provide a lower-mtow version to make the airplane eligible for reduced or no fees in European operations.</p>
