Lowe Aviation, a Phillips 66 Aviation Performance Center at Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN), Macon, Ga., is the hometown fueler for medium-size international charter operator Aviance. George Moore, owner of Aviance, operates five Learjets. He started in 1988 with one leased aircraft, adding to the fleet as business demanded.

Moore expects to add two more Learjets after the company “rides out the rocky economy.” Most of its charter trips are within North America, east of the Mississippi, but Aviance also flies to Latin America and has flown as far as Alaska and the Atlantic islands.

Moore said he relies on Henry Lowe, owner of Lowe Aviation, for hometown fuel service for the Learjet fleet. He also credits Phillips 66’s preblended antimicrobial fuel additive with saving him $150,000 in fuel-system maintenance annually. He works with Lowe to help ensure fuel quality. Moore said, “Sometimes we go to Henry’s fuel farm to check the fuel. We don’t do special checks like API gravity tests, but we get regular reports from Henry.”
