Lanmar Aviation has opened its newly refurbished facility at the Groton-New London Airport (GON), Conn. Amenities include available maintenance service; hangar storage for aircraft up to the size of a Gulfstream V; WSI computerized weather service; snooze rooms; showers; a conference room; courtesy vehicles; aircraft cleaning and detailing; catering; a crew lounge; Internet service; limo service; and car rentals.
Founded in 1985 by Richard Polidori, Lanmar Aviation began as an ENG helicopter charter operation for the local ABC and NBC news affiliates. The business relocated in 2001 to GON, when Polidori expanded the charter business and built a 25,000-sq-ft full-service FBO. The expanded operation includes a management division that operates a fleet of helicopters and business jets.
Lanmar now claims 90,000 sq ft of office and hangar space. Polidori said, “This expansion signals a new level of aviation customer support at Groton-New London, and I’m delighted to be able to offer services and amenities that rival the best in the country.”
