Albany Airport Next Site For Eclipse Service Center

Eclipse Aviation has chosen Albany International Airport as the site for its new northeast factory service center. The company plans to have seven domestic factory service centers and has previously nounced locations in Albuquerque, N.M., and Gainesville, Fla.

Construction of the new facility is slated to begin in the spring and should be completed by the end of next year. New York State Senate majority leader Joseph Bruno has provided a $1.5 million grant to assist the airport in building the new hangar and providing the additional infrastructure and runway access that will be required. An additional $100,000 grant was obtained from Empire State Development to reduce the cost of machinery and equipment to be used in the new center. Both incentives were incorporated into the airport’s financing and lease agreement.
