Business aircraft manufacturers are flocking to Asian Aerospace 2006, eager to build on the impact they made at the first Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE) held in Shanghai, China, last August. Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, Eclipse Aviation, Embraer, Dassault Falcon Jet, Gulfstream, Pilatus and Raytheon are all booked to exhibit in Singapore.

Asian Aerospace marks Eclipse’s full debut on the international airshow circuit. However, the very light jet pioneer has previously exhibited at EBACE.

Both Bombardier and Embraer will also be showcasing their regional airliner series. Also present from this market will be Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company with a mockup of its Russian Regional Jet, Aviation Industries of China offering the ARJ-21 Asian Regional Jet and European turboprop manufacturer Avions de Transport Regional.

Among the business aviation equipment suppliers and service companies also heading to Singapore are Honeywell, Rockwell Collins, Thales, Nordam, Lufthansa Technik, Jeppesen, Jet Aviation and JetEx Flight Support. Engine manufacturers Safran (formerly Snecma), Pratt & Whitney, CFM International, General Electric and Rolls-Royce will also be present.

In addition to a show-stopping appearance by the new Airbus A380 super-larger airliner (for which Singapore Airlines is one of the first customers), the following aircraft are also due to be on display: Cessna Citation Sovereign and Grand Caravan; Dassault Falcon 2000; Gulfstream G200, G450 and G550; Raytheon Hawker 1000, Hawker 800XP, Premier 1 and King Air B200; Pilatus PC-12; and two Eurocopter EC 135s. Only this provisional list was available at press time, but there will likely be more attending business aircraft announced closer to the event.

For the first time, the Singapore show will also feature the Asian Defence Technology Exhibition and Conference. The following conferences will also be running in parallel with Asian Aerospace: Asia Training and Simulation; Unmanned Technologies; Asia-Pacific Security; C4i Asia (command and control in network-centric warfare); IATA Asian Aerospace Aviation Summit; the Asia-Pacific Airline Training Symposium; Land Defense Techology; and Welcoming the A380.
