Gulfstream’s Long Beach, Calif., business-jet completions and product support site is now ISO 14001- and OHSAS 18001-compliant. ISO 14001 is earned by companies that are in compliance with international regulatory standards and demonstrate an established and uniform approach to managing their environmental policies and procedures. OHSAS 18001 is an Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems specification that improves on health and safety management systems designed to make the workplace safer. The company’s Savannah, Ga., manufacturing facility achieved both in December 2004.
Gulfstream also announced that the Long Beach facility has been approved by the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to provide maintenance support for Bermuda-registered Gulfstreams currently in production. The approval also covers out-of-production Gulfstreams including the GI, GII, GIII, GIV, GV and G100. In addition to providing maintenance for Bermuda-registered aircraft, the facility has been granted authority to make recommendations to the DCA regarding the issuance of certificates of airworthiness, certificates of airworthiness for export and permits to fly.
