Japanese Airline ANA Expands eVTOL Air Taxi Alliance with Joby

Joby will fly its four-passenger eVTOL aircraft at the Expo 2025 event in Osaka this October

Japanese airline ANA is expanding its partnership with eVTOL aircraft manufacturer Joby Aviation to prepare for the launch of air taxi services through a joint venture. The companies announced the initiative on August 5, saying that it could involve more than 100 of Joby’s four-passenger aircraft.

The partners have not said how the joint venture will function in terms of who will own and operate the eVTOL fleet. They indicated that plans call for a phased rollout of services starting in and around the capital, Tokyo.
