Panasonic Avionics Corporation and Singapore Airlines have introduced a series of new innovations in personalization with the launch of myKrisWorld, the airline’s newest Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) offering. myKrisWorld embraces Panasonic’s vision for IFEC centered around “the Internet of Me,” delivering personalized and contextualized experiences enabled via actionable data analytics. The new offering leverages Singapore Airlines’ previous investment in Panasonic’s eX3 system.
With myKrisWorld, inaugurated last November, passengers can use the airline’s app or web site to preview content and create customized playlists before boarding, and once onboard can synchronize their mobile device or log in at their seat to access preselected content. Additional innovations allow passengers to bookmark, store language preference, select wallpaper customization between flights; receive customized content recommendations; and have access to exclusive content based on frequent flier tier. myKrisWorld can also make recommendations based on passengers’ individual viewing preferences, while using crowd-sourced data to offer popular alternative titles. Passengers who stop viewing a movie before its conclusion on one flight can watch the rest of it on a subsequent journey.
“Panasonic Avionics and Singapore Airlines have always been at the forefront of IFEC innovation,” said Hideo Nakano, Panasonic Avionics Corp.’s CEO, calling the latest leap forward “a tectonic shift in our industry—personalization.”
