Airbus Survey Confirms Value of Real-World Travel

A two-year global consultation conducted by Airbus found that people still see a need to meet face-to-face despite the increased use of social media, a conclusion that bodes well for the future of air transport.

The report, issued on the eve of this week’s Farnborough International Airshow, said that 63 percent of the 1.75 million people surveyed said that they would fly more by 2050, and 60 percent didn’t see social media as a replacement for real-world contact. However, 40 percent said they felt that air travel had become increasingly stressful, and 96 percent believe in the need for more sustainable/eco-efficient aircraft.
