The National Transportation Safety Board has dispatched a team of investigators this morning to assist the Transportation Safety Board of Canada with its investigation of yesterday’s runway overrun of a Trans States Airlines ERJ 145 during a rainstorm in Ottawa.

At about 2:30 p.m. EDT, the 50-seat regional jet, operated as United Express Flight 8050 (N847HK), overran Runway 25 while landing at Ottawa International Airport. Reports indicated minor injuries to the two pilots and an elderly passenger among the 36 occupants on board. Rescue teams took all three to a nearby hospital, which subsequently released them. The flight originated from Washington Dulles International Airport.
