Regionals Update: Siebenburgen makes way for Buttrell at Delta Connection

Delta Air Lines’ “realignment” of its regional subsidiaries reached the top levels of management last month, when Delta senior v-p of strategy and business development Fred Buttrell became president and CEO of Delta Connection. Buttrell replaced long-time Comair CEO David Siebenburgen, considered by many the father of the regional jet movement in the U.S. The personnel changes coincide with Delta’s decision to move its subsidiary’s headquarters from Cincinnati to Atlanta “to more closely align Delta Connection with Delta on commercial issues.”

Siebenburgen, 54, will continue his duties as chairman of Delta AirElite Business Jets, a Delta Connection subsidiary that markets executive jet service to corporate clients. Siebenburgen became CEO of Delta Connection after Delta bought a controlling stake in Comair in January last year.
