Mesa Air Group last month reversed its decision to establish a new Cincinnati base and canceled all the flights scheduled to six cities from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport for July 8. Mesa contacted all affected passengers and reaccommodated them on Delta Air Lines or Comair flights.

“While we were pleased with the initial bookings for our Cincinnati service, once Comair began flying again, we felt our future Cincinnati prospects were limited without a major airline affiliation,” said Jonathan Ornstein, Mesa’s chairman and CEO. “Mesa will find other destinations for the aircraft deployed to Cincinnati, and we continue to pursue opportunities for the expansion of our regional jet flying.”
