European regional airlines strengthened their ties with their major airline counterparts from across the Atlantic last month, when Italy’s Air Dolomiti signed a code-share contract with United Airlines, and the UK’s Flybe entered a similar agreement with Continental Airlines.

Under its contract with Air Dolomiti, United placed its code on more than 40 daily flights operated by the Italian regional, giving it access to eight new destinations in Italy. Code-share flights operated by Air Dolomiti connect with United flights into and out of Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt and Munich. One of Lufthansa Airlines’ largest regional partners, Air Dolomiti flies five 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200s, twelve 46-seat ATR 42s and six 64-seat ATR 72s from its primary base in Verona, Italy, and on point-to-point services between various Italian cities and European destinations.
